Articulation agreements
The Virginia Community College System has entered into articulation agreements with many of the four-year colleges and universities within the state. Graduates of Virginia Western are guaranteed acceptance in those colleges when the conditions of the agreement have been met. In addition to the articulation agreements listed in the above link, Virginia Western has entered into articulation agreements that are specific to our college. Please see a college counselor, located in the Advising/Counseling Office of Chapman Hall, for further information on any of these articulation agreements.
Students can apply and be guaranteed junior level admission at Ferrum College, Virginia Commonwealth University and Virginia State University provided they complete an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree program at Virginia Western with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Hollins University offers VWCC students guaranteed admission at the junior level provided they complete an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree program at Virginia Western with a GPA of 2.5 of higher.
Old Dominion University offers VWCC students guaranteed admission at the junior level provided they complete an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree program at Virginia Western with a GPA of 2.2 or higher.
Radford University guarantees admission into the following programs with certain stipulations:
Criminal Justice Degree program, General Studies degree program, Interdisciplinary Studies program, Nursing Degree program, Organizational Management, and Social Work degree program.
Roanoke College offers VWCC students guaranteed admission at the junior level provided they complete an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree program at Virginia Western with a GPA of 2.2 or higher.
Virginia Tech gives guaranteed admission to students who have completed the Engineering Associate in Science degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students with a 3.0 or higher will be deemed eligible and given special consideration on a space available basis for admission to the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech.
