Dual Enrollment
WELCOME!
Virginia Western Community College's dual enrollment program is committed to providing local high school students with opportunities to complete college-level classes at their local high schools, while satisfying the requirements for the completion of their junior year and senior year high school courses. Thus, students can complete a variety of college-level courses, usually at their own school, which will not only serve to complete high school graduation requirements, but which will also serve to complete college course requirements typically associated with freshman and sophomore level courses necessary for an associate degree at Virginia Western or a bachelor’s degree at any four-year college or university.
In addition, Virginia Western has embarked on an extensive initiative involving career and technical education programs and courses. These programs and courses are related to various occupations which require one to two years of training and will allow students to go to work immediately after their training is completed. Even more importantly, most of these career and technical programs are designed to allow students to move into a career pathway which will lead to two-year and four-year college training programs. The Virginia Western Regional Academy for Advanced Technology offers a variety of advanced training programs in local high schools and at the center which is located on the College’s campus.
