One-on-One/Group Tutoring

The Academic LinkThe Academic Link's one-on-one/group tutoring program is open to all Virginia Western students for courses in which they are currently enrolled. Tutoring is provided in an individual or small group format at no cost to students. The one-on-one/group tutoring program provides tutors for most VWCC courses. We do our best to fill all requests. We can't, however, guarantee that a tutor will be available to tutor in a given subject area.

How to Obtain a Tutor

  1. Stop by the Resource Desk in the Link Learning Commons (main floor of Brown Library) and complete a tutor request form.
  2. Turn in your request form, along with your VARK scores, to the Resource Tutor. At that time, the Resource Tutor will either schedule your first appointment or -- depending on tutor availability -- add your name to the waiting list.
  3. Schedule an appointment for a 45-minute academic success coaching session on the topic of your choice.
  4. Check your VWCC email daily for appointment confirmation, reminder, and cancellation emails.
