The purpose of the Academic Link is simple: To connect students to academic success by supporting the development of critical learning skills through services and supports that assist students in becoming better learners.
The one-on-one/group tutoring program provides individual and group tutoring services for students who seek intensive, ongoing assistance in a particular course. The one-on-one/group program goal is to provide assistance to any student who requests it in any subject.
The Math Center is a walk-in service where students can get immediate individual help with mathematics in most math and science courses on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Writing Center is a walk-in tutoring service where students can get help with writing assignments from any course in all stages of the writing process—from invention strategies to critiquing a rough draft or finished text. Students are served in the Writing Center in half-hour increments on a first-come, first-served basis.
Academic Skills Coaches work with students to develop skills and proficiencies necessary for academic success. All students who request an individual or group tutor are required to participate in a one hour coaching session although any student can book a session. In these sessions, coaches will help students to assess their learning styles and build a set of active learning strategies.
