Connect the Dots will be sponsoring this weeks TED talk. Come enjoy a TED talk that touches upon the Connect the Dots mission and hear about the many offerings (and projects) they have in store for our campus this semester. Friday at 1pm on the 3rd floor of the Student Life Center (S307)
This week's talk: Daphne Koller - What we're learning from online education
Daphne Koller is enticing top universities to put their most intriguing courses online for free — not just as a service, but as a way to research how people learn. With Coursera (cofounded by Andrew Ng), each keystroke, quiz, peer-to-peer discussion and self-graded assignment builds an unprecedented pool of data on how knowledge is processed.
More about Connect the Dots
Connect the Dots is about applying the golden rule (treat others as you want to be treated) to every part of our lives. With this idea we find novel solutions to social problems and simulate progress. Our immediate goal is to give students an alternative to textbooks.

The VW Philosophy Club exists to provide a forum for its members to discuss and exchange philosophical idea's about life's most important questions. We hold meetings twice a month on Wednesdays and Thursdays in room S307 in the Student Life Center. The next one will be next Thursday, October 30 and the topic will be: "What is happiness?" Interested students need only show up and we will add them to the philosophy club's Blackboard site to receive important emails, readings/videos related to the meeting topics, meeting schedules, and more. Anyone interested can contact me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or our program supervisor, Ivan Guajardo, at email@example.com for answers to questions pertaining to the club.
