Students, faculty, and staff --- Enter the library’s “How Many Books?” contest. Guess how many books in print are in the Circulating collection on the top floor of the Brown Library Building. Go to the top floor of the library and look at the Circulating collection; then submit a contest entry form at either the Reference Desk or Circulation Desk. The contest runs April 15 through April 19, 4:00pm. Winners will be notified on Monday, April 21.

Roanoke City Parks and Rec’s Outdoor Recreation has invited Virginia Western to participate in the Earth Day Work Day on Tuesday, April 22 on the Mill Mountain Trails in Roanoke.
They are looking for people that are interested in giving back on Earth Day to our local trail system by picking up trash, fixing muddy spots, blazing trees, closing a cut off switchback, and fixing some erosion spots. There is no experience necessary as they will have experienced crew leaders on hand to guide participants.
Lunch is included and the workday starts at 9:00am and will run until 1:00pm. After lunch, the city parks staff will lead a guided hike or guided mountain biking trip on the Mill Mountain trails after lunch (need to have own bike).
Contact Renee Lavin if you are interested in at firstname.lastname@example.org or 853-5867.
