Summer Tutoring Availability

One-on-one tutoring will be available for TRIO/Pathways students this summer. TRIO/Pathways students who are interested in tutoring should come to the Resource Desk in the Link Learning Commons (main floor Brown Library) and complete a Tutor Request form. Tutoring will be available for all students  on a walk-in basis in the Math Center, Science Center, Writing Center, Accounting Lab, and M302 (for IT students). Records Office Closed 5/15

Due to the Graduation Ceremony, the Records Office will be closed Friday, May 15th.

 

Radford University On-Site Admissions for Fall 2015

Radford University will be on campus in the Natural Science Center, Tuesday, May 19th for On-Site Admissions.  You will need to schedule an appointment in the Advising Office in Chapman Hall, room 105. The deadline for scheduling an appointment will be Monday, May 18th.  Appointments will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis, so schedule early!

To sign up for an appointment with a Radford University Admissions Representative you must:

  1. Complete the online application to Radford University.
  2. Print out a copy of the complete application and bring it to Heather Hunter in Chapman 105  to sign up for a specific meeting time (appointments will be scheduled in 20 minute increments).
  3. Bring official transcripts from VWCC and any other colleges & universities you have previously attended to Heather Hunter in Chapman 105 (Unofficial transcripts will not be reviewed).
  4. Bring official high school transcripts (necessary if you have not taken a college level math, successfully completed developmental math that includes up through Algebra II,  or if you have completed less than 24 transferable credits)

Please be aware that in order to make an appointment you will need to turn in ALL of the required documents.

What Happens During My On-Site Admissions Appointment?         

  1. You will meet with an admissions representative from Radford University.
  2. You will receive an admissions decision!
  3. You will find out more about transfer scholarships and will learn about the next steps after being accepted.

Appointments can be arranged May 25-29, June 29-July 2 with Natasha Lee (nlee@virginiawestern.edu) or Nick Owens (nowens@virginiawestern.edu).

No IDs will be made after July 2 until Fall semester.

Longwood University Transfer Accepting Applications for Fall 2015

Longwood University is still accepting applications for the fall 2015 term. Currently, they have academic and residential space for transfer students. To be considered for admission, students must submit the following documents:

Virginia Western’s web team is currently working on a new design for the college’s website, and we want your help!

Join us at the Fitness Center for Free classes every week!

Mindful Meditation: Mondays 12:00pm-1:00pm Stop breathe observe and connect with your inner experience.

Step it Up: Tuesdays 11:30am - 12:30pm Get your heart pumping! This class utilizes a raised surface, choreography.

Yoga: Tuesdays 12:30pm-1:30pm ,Wednesdays 11:00am-11:50am and  5:30pm-6:30pm Intermediate stretch and flow class. Internal focus for energizing and calming.

Sculpting Blast:  and Thursdays 8:30am - 9:30am A weight-based class targeting specific muscles. Uses medicine balls, weights, and bands.

(Scultpting Blast Tuesdays 5:30pm - 6:30pm is cancelled for April 28th and May 5th)

Buns, Guns, and Guts:  Focuses on booty, arms, and abs. Uses hand weights and mild cardio.

(Buns, Guns, and Guts 12:30 - 1:30 is cancelled for April 29th)

Salsa Dancing: Thursdays 2:30pm-3:30pm Learn the steps while giving your body workout and have fun. No partner needed

Pilates: Thursdays 5:30pm-6:30pm Lengthen and strengthen your entire body using core muscles and incorporating strength training.

Zumba Fitness: Fridays 12:30pm-1:30pm Dance-based fitness that use a fusion of Latin and International rhythms with easy-to-follow moves.
