The Institute for Shipboard Education/Semester at Sea is pleased to offer Virginia Community College System students the opportunity to study abroad this summer in Europe and Scandinavia. The University of Virginia serves as the academic sponsor for the Semester at Sea program. Students will earn 9-12 UVA credits, while visiting 11 cities in 10 countries during this 66 day voyage, June 16th-August 21st.
As the Institute works to enroll more community college students and further the reach of education abroad, we have created a special offer for those closest to home. All currently enrolled VCCS students will receive a $3000.00 grant from the Institute for the Summer 2014 voyage. Students should submit their application and be admitted prior to May 1, 2014 to ensure ample time to secure the one required visa for this voyage (Russian visa) and avoid paying rush fees. In addition, students may utilize the application fee waiver code VCCS to submit their applications, saving the $50.00 application fee. This code will also serve as our notification to issue the $3000 VCCS grant, upon admission to the program. This code will be valid until 4.30.14.
Please visit the Summer 2014 voyage page to view the itinerary, courses offered on the voyage, voyage faculty and more. The Admissions Counselor for VCCS schools is James Fealey. Students can reach James at firstname.lastname@example.org or 434-243-4302 with any program or admission questions.
