Smoking on the North side of campus is limited to outside areas that are at least 25 feet from any building entrance.

The discarding of cigarette butts on the ground as litter on campus may subject the person to a criminal fine for littering.

Earth Day Work Day at Mill Mountain

Roanoke City Parks and Rec’s Outdoor Recreation has invited Virginia Western to participate in the Earth Day Work Day onTuesday, April 22 the Mill Mountain Trails in Roanoke.

They are looking for people that are interested in giving back on Earth Day to our local trail system by picking up trash, fixing muddy spots, blazing trees, closing a cut off switchback, and fixing some erosion spots. Lunch is included and the workday starts at 9:00am and will run until 1:00pm. After lunch, the city parks staff will lead a guided hike or guided mountain biking trip on the Mill Mountain trails after lunch (need to have own bike).
