Milk on Friday!

Come celebrate Gay History Month with the Human Rights Club with a showing of the movie "Milk!"  Sean Penn plays the role of ledendary activist Harvey Milk during the heated beginnings of the Gay Rights Movement in the 1950s. 

Friday at 2:o0 PM in Whitman Theater.

 The movie is free to the public, and donations will be accepted for the children at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

How To Apply:

  1. GO TO VWCC HOME PAGE   www.virginiawestern.edu.
  2. Click on Hall Career Center (Top and Center of homepage).
  3. On the left side click JOB BANK.
  4. Click on STUDENT/ALUMNI.
  5. Click on REGISTER.
  6. Fill in template (starred fields are required; use your school email address in the primary email field).
  7. Click SUBMIT. An email verification link will be sent to the primary email.
  8. Log in to your email and follow the link verify your account and set a password.
  9. You will then be taken into the job bank.
  10. Upload RESUME to apply - Staff will review your resume before it will be available for use and email you if changes are needed. ( need help?- check Hall Career Center homepage for Resume Power Hours)

Hollwood Costume Exhibit at the VirginiaMuseum of Fine Arts – Richmond, VA

Departing VWCC at 8 a.m.

Brings together the most iconic movie costumes from across a century of filmmaking.  Many costumes have never before left the studio archives in California.  It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the clothes worn by unforgettable and beloved characters in films, including The Wizard of Oz, the Birds, My Fair Lady, Superman, Titanic, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and the The Dark Knight Rises.

Trip includes transportation on a charter bus.  Participants must bring money for meals.  Limited number of spots available.  Sign up with Student Activities to reserve your spot.

$5 ticket fee required at time of sign up.
