This updated version of    “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” still contains the classic story of young love, teenage rebellion, feuding fairies, and ambitious actors; but now it takes place on the Jersey Shore with fresh, contemporary dialogue and countless pop culture references seamlessly combined with Shakespeare’s original poetry.   Play dates are October 19, 20, 26, and 27 at 7:30 P.M. at Patrick Henry High School. 5th Annual Holiday Gift Bazaar at Colonial Presbyterian Church, Saturday, November 3rd, 9am-2pm. Local vendors: Scentsy, Silpada, Willow House, Longaberger, Thirty-One, Tomboy Tools, Avon, Origami Owl Lockets, Initials, Inc., Happy Thoughts Crafts, Party Lite, handmade knitting, candles, soap, jewelry & pottery and much more! There will also be a bake sale, lunch concessions and a SERRV International gift sale.  All proceeds will benefit our 2013 Mission Team to the Dominican Republic.  The Church is located off Colonial Avenue, at 3550 Poplar Drive, between Ogden Road and Route 419. Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes can be dropped off at Colonial Presbyterian Church the week of November 12-19. Monday 12th – 9am-12pm, Tuesday 13th – 9am-12pm, Wednesday 14th – 5pm-7pm, Thursday 15th – 5pm-7pm, Friday 16th – 9am-12pm, Saturday 17th – 9am-12pm, Sunday 18th – 12pm-3pm, Monday 19th – 9am-12pm. If you want more information about how to fill a shoebox you can stop by the Church during the above times or visit the Samaritan’s Purse website http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/index/ . Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute MRI Research Study on Depression. Contact Cari Rosoff, Clinical Research Assistant, depression@vtc.vt.edu, 540-526-2032. Participants should be ages 18-55 years old, speak English, having problems with feelings of sadness or depression, not taking anti-depressants, not claustrophobic, no metal implants, not have had a head injury. Compensated $15 per hour for interview and questionnaires and $20 or more additional for scanning session depending on the results of the games you play in the scanner.
