CHAPMAN HALL OFFICE HOURS

Beginning Wednesday, August 29; the offices of Admissions, Advising/Retention, Financial Aid and Records will be open Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 5:30 and on Fridays from 8:00 – 5:00.

AUGUST 28 – LAST DAY TO REGISTER

Tuesday, August 28 is the last day to register for a regular session 16-week class. This includes making changes to schedules.

RESUME POWER HOUR

The Hall Career Center will be hosting Resume Power Hour every Monday between 11 a.m. and noon. Stop by the Thomas Center in room G202 or call 857-7298 to get handouts to get started.  Resumes must be typed in a Word document. Drop in and have your resume tweaked. Office of Pregnant and Parenting Student Services Program

The Office of Pregnant & Parenting Student Services (OPPSS) is a grant funded program that provides referral and support services to pregnant women, expectant fathers and students who parent young children. The program connects students to campus and community programs, services and information to help them manage the challenges of being a student-parent. 

Services to participating students include campus based programming, referrals and support relating to parenting, academics, health and social services, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. Our goal is to increase the academic success and retention of our enrolled pregnant and parenting students.

The OPPSS Program Offers:

  • Resources for pregnant and parenting students
  • Campus based workshops, referrals and activities relating to parenting, nutrition, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking
  • Referrals to campus and community programs and services
  • Referrals and resources for health related services
  • Referrals to area social service agencies
  • Opportunities to gather with other student parents

Student Council – First Meeting Tomorrow!

Join the Virginia Western Student Council!

The Student Council is an organization where students can share ideas, opinions, and make recommendations to college staff! The Student Council meets monthly and is open to all Virginia Western students!

Join us for the first meeting on Tuesday, August 28 at 12:30 pm in Thomas Center, Room 205. Refreshments provided.

After the first meeting, all other meetings will take place the first Tuesday of every month at 12:30 in the Thomas Center, Room 205.

(Upcoming meetings this semester: September 4, October 9, November 6 and December 4).

STUDENT ID OFFICE HOURS - Fall 2012 OPEN HOURS

August 22 – September 6, 2012
Monday – Thursday
10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thomas Center, Second Floor Lobby
Limited Office Hours will be available after September 6. Specific hours to be announced!

All students must bring a Government Issued Photo ID (i.e. Driver’s License, Passport) AND a current copy of their class schedule.

Students who already have a student ID can receive a Fall 2012 enrollment sticker during these hours. Student IDs with a current enrollment sticker (Fall 2012) are REQUIRED for free Valley Metro service and for technology check-outs in the Brown Library.
