 The annual Back 2 School Blast in Roanoke is in need of volunteers for the event on August 12, 2012 who have a heart for helping kids in our community!

Discover Mechatronics (rising grades 6-8) T-Th 7/17-7/19, 8:30am-4:00pm, cost: $145 Students in this three day camp will have the opportunity to explore the fundamentals of robotics, computer programming, electronics and mechanical processes through project based activities. Students will be able to design, build and program a unique project using a specific set of modules...all while building friendships in a fun-filled environment. The ultimate goal of the Mechatronics Camp is to inspire and educate students by introducing them to engineering technology and the many exciting career opportunities available to them in the high-tech industry. Additionally, the summer camp will provide a fun and exciting atmosphere that encourages: Innovation, Creative thinking, Motivation, Organization, Self-esteem, and Teamwork.

Let's Be Creative - Art and Your Imagination (rising grades 2-5) M-F 7/16-7/20, 1:00pm-4:00pm; cost:$95 Art is all about taking something ordinary and making it extraordinary...about making something from nothing. Use your imagination to create your own treasures as you paint and draw, cut and glue.

Join Our Magical Mystery Tour (rising grades 1-6) M-F 8/6-8/10, 9:00am-12:00pm, cost: $150 All aboard for lots of hand-on fun. Join in the escapades of Harry and his friends. Play quidditch. Make an edible wand. We will brew some fantastic potion to drink. Let's create and watch some amazing chemical reactions. Watch a mirage appear. You won't believe it! Virginia Western’s OSHA 10-hour Training Program for General Industry - # 34478  MANF 2249 A2 - July 28, 2012 and August 4, 2012

Program provides training for workers and employers on recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in general industry. The program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and the complaint process. Through this training, OSHA helps to ensure that workers are more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights. Students will receive OSHA 10 cards upon successful completion of course.
