Trip to Concord Mills!

Monday, March 5 (First day of Spring Break)

Departing VWCC at 8 a.m. / Return approx. 9 p.m.

 

Outlet stores, LEGO land, Bass Pro Shops, NASCAR Speedpark and more! Spend the day shopping, relaxing and having fun at Concord Mills shops! Trip includes transportation on a charter bus to Concord Mills. Participants must bring money for meals. $10 deposit required (returned upon arrival at event, day of trip). Only currently enrolled VWCC students, faculty or staff may attend.

Sign up early! Seats are limited! Visit the Student Activities Office  in S204 to place your deposit and reserve your spot!

Photoshop Basics - beginner level course introduces Photoshop tools and menus and teaches the basics of working with photos or graphic layouts. Covers basic photo corrections, working with selections, layers and masks and channels and drawing paths. Mondays, March 5 – April 9, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., $90 per student. Register by February 27

Basic SLR Photography - A series of classes designed to help beginning photographers learn how to effectively operate their cameras and take better pictures. Learn about basic settings and techniques for lighting and composition. Digital camera with manual capabilities required. Must provide own camera. Tuesdays, March 6 – April 10, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., $80 per student. Register by March 2

Screenwriting Course covers the basics of formatting, character development, writing dialogue, and crafting a script in three acts. With an emphasis on getting a script read, this class will focus on the common mistakes made by many first-time writers, introduce solid scriptwriting resources, offer practical advice, and invite students to pen a short script for review in class. Tuesdays, February 28 – April 3, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., $90 per student. Register by February 24

Indie Production Basics - This course will cover development, preproduction, production, post-production, marketing and distribution, common production mistakes, casting and crewing, equipment rentals, location advice, post-work, and the festival circuit. Thursdays, March 1 – April 5, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., $90 per student, Register by February 27
