On Friday, February 17 - Saturday, February 18, 2012, Virginia Western Community College will host the 5th Annual Black Student Leadership Conference for high school seniors and students enrolled in colleges and universities throughout the Commonwealth. LIFE (Living Intentionally for Excellence) 101: It's A Celebration will feature award winning authors, speakers, and workshop leaders that include Dr. Carolyn Browning, Dr. Debyii L. Sababu-Thomas, Dr. Barbara Pendergrass, C. Oliver Junior, Jerel Rhodes, Tamara Futrell and more. Topical workshops for advisors and students are designed to inspire, challenge, and motivate conferees in pursuit of academic excellence through leadership, service and wellness.

The mission of the 5th Annual Black Student Leadership Conference is to celebrate the uniqueness of the Black student experience through a series of keynote addresses, workshops and networking opportunities. This forum seeks to cultivate the exchange of ideas, experiences and resources in order to promote the scholarship, leadership development, and wellness of high school seniors and college students.
