Office of Pregnant and Parenting Student Services

The Office of Pregnant & Parenting Student Services (OPPSS) provides referral and support services to enrolled pregnant women, expectant fathers and parenting students through a partnership with the Virginia Department of Health. The program connects students to campus and community programs and services to help with the challenges that may occur as a student parent. Our goal is to increase the academic success and retention of our enrolled pregnant and parenting students while helping them to reach their educational goals.

The OPPSS Program offers:

  • Support and resources for enrolled pregnant and parenting students
  • Campus based workshops, referrals and activities relating to parenting, nutrition, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking
  • Referrals to campus and community programs and services
  • Referrals and resources for health related services
  • Referrals to area social service & community support agencies
  • Opportunities to network with other student parents
