| Penny Bryarly | Penny holds a Bachelors degree in Management from National Louis University and has had extensive experience providing software application training to diverse groups ranging from the Department of Justice to adult education students in the local community. Her skill in customizing software training to meet the specific needs of clients and students and her attention to customer service has made Penny a popular adjunct faculty member. She also has experience in administering and debriefing organizations using the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). In 2008, Penny received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Instruction recognizing her outstanding service to our students. Penny also serves as our resident motorcycle commuter, using her Honda street bike to save on gas. |

| Jerome Frederick | Jerome is an extremely talented individual. In addition to having an MBA from Ohio State University, Jerome has lived and worked on 2 continents, in 9 states in the U.S., and 1 island in the Caribbean. This diverse background brings a unique perspective to business organizations and life in general. He has held positions ranging from Industrial Mechanic to Global Training and People Development Manager and has worked for the US Government, Trinidad and Tobago Government, in industries such as Manufacturing, and Healthcare distribution and has run his own business in consulting, training and people development. In his own words, he has transcended governments, culture, position, level, prestige, politics and human frailty. Offering a rare blend of creativity and pragmatism Jerome is comfortable training and motivating others to go beyond the boundaries and not just “settle” for where they happen to find themselves today. His specialties are in the areas of management and leadership development as well as improving communication skills |
| Julie Gladu | Julie has an MA from Virginia Tech in Curriculum and Instruction. Her area of expertise is mathematics. She uses current technology and real-world mathematical models to provide instruction that emphasizes computational skills, problem-solving and deductive reasoning. |
| Bob Kenney, Ph.D. | Bob holds both his Masters and Doctorate degrees in social and organizational psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. His specialty is in the area of small group training and organizational analysis. He has worked with thousands of people desiring to develop practical business skills in the areas of leadership, management and team development. Bob regularly delivers workshops for continuing and executive education at major universities including Duke University, UVA, University of North Carolina, The University of Pittsburgh and the University of Maine. VWCC is very fortunate that he also enjoys working with clients and students in the community college system as well. |
| Fran McMaster | Fran holds a BA in International Studies from the American University in Washington DC. She has experience working with diverse industries ranging from government and the military to healthcare and financial institutions. Her areas of expertise are in software application training including developing databases and understanding Crystal Reports. |
| Gailen Miles | Gailen has been integrally involved in organizational development in the Roanoke Valley for decades. She holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Hollins University and will complete her MBA from Averette University in the summer of 2008. She has been developing and conducting training workshops for the private and public sector since 1983. Her areas of expertise include a focus on cultural and leadership development. Gailen is certified to administer and debrief all facets of the DISC assessment and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). |
| Georgianne Ondreako-Vecellio |
Although quiet and unassuming when you first meet her, Georgianne quickly becomes'"Super Teacher " in the classroom. She has worked with many local employers to develop customized Spanish language programs and work-based learning experiences for employees. She puts great energy into understanding the needs of employers so that classes are meaningful and helpful to employees in their work. Georgianne has dual masters' degrees from West Virginia University in Spanish and Curriculum and Instruction. She was a 2008 recipient of the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Instruction. | Steve Smith | As the President and CEO of EnviroSafety Group, Steve has more than 20 years of hands-on experience in environmental and safety management. Steve is an OSHA General Industry Authorized Trainer and is the primary instructor for our OSHA safety classes. He has a bachelor's degree in Science from Virginia Tech. |
| Carla Spencer | Carla holds an MBA from Averette University and is currently a Senior Police Officer with the Salem Police Department. Her extensive experience in law enforcement (including training as a hostage negotiator) and as a former inner city school teacher brings an unusual perspective to topic areas such as communication, conflict management, problem-solving and public speaking. |
