Normally your first contact with IET is through the Security Access Request Form (SARF). Your supervisor will submit an electronic SARF and request all the systems you will need to access. Once IET receives the SARF, it will take 3-4 days to get the accounts created and all of the necessary approval signatures. When this process is complete, both you and your supervisor will receive an email with your username(s) and temporary password(s).
Security awareness training at VWCC is an on-line training tool accessed at https://va.moatusers.com/ that satisfies the requirement in the ISO27000 Standard for annual security awareness training by all VWCC employees. Popups cannot be blocked for the website. It is encouraged that all new employees complete security awareness training within the first 30 days of employment.
In the ongoing effort to provide enhanced communication during times of emergency, Virginia Western uses the VWAlert Text Messaging System. The system is designed to contact you during a major crisis or emergency. The system can deliver important emergency alerts, notifications and updates to you on all your devices:

All faculty and staff are required to get ID badges through the Student Activities office and are required to wear them while on campus. This ID badge has your name and picture on the front and your emplid on the back.
We use VW Alert to immediately contact you during a major crisis or emergency.
