Student Email (Google Apps)
The following are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions regarding student email. If you do not find your answer here contact the Help Desk directly at:

- Open your Internet browser.
- Go to http://www.virginiawestern.edu/.
- Click the MY VWCC link located at the top in the dark blue banner. You can also find the My VWCC button in the lower right-hand column.
- Enter your Username and Password.
- Click Log In.
- Click the Gmail link under the My Tools section.
Important Changes to your Google Account
Please be aware that when you first log into your Google account there are some crucial steps that all students need to take to
successfully access any Google Apps, including Gmail. These steps are easy to accomplish and will only be required once.
- First, everyone must click through and agree to a new consumer Terms of Service (TOS) when you next login. No Google Apps can
be accessed until users agree to these new TOS. To see these TOS, visit: http://www.email.vccs.edu/terms-of-service.
- Second, when setting up a profile in Google Plus (G+), a Facebook-like social networking service included in the upgrade, it
is especially important that you enter a correct date of birth (or at least a date of birth that will make you 13 years old or
older). If you enter a date of birth indicating you are younger than 13, you will be permanently locked out of all Google
services. This cannot be undone without significant effort and additional costs.

I do not know my e-mail password how do I reset it?
Note: This changes all passwords for the MY VWCC system.
- Open your Internet browser.
- Go to http://www.virginiawestern.edu/.
- Click the MY VWCC link located at the top in the dark blue banner. You can also find the My VWCC button in the lower right-hand column.
- Click the "Look up your username and set your password." link.
- Follow the steps to reset your password.

Your e-mail name can be updated to reflect name changes. We discourage this because a new e-mail account will be created and all old e-mails will be lost.

If a deleted item is no longer in your Trash folder, it is gone. VWCC does not have any ability to restore deleted items.
