The College encourages continued education to enable employees to enhance their career, life, and future.
- Programs are available to full-time, part-time wage (excluding student workers), and adjunct employees to provide reimbursement of tuition and mandatory fee expenses for up to six credit hours a semester at Virginia Western Community College. Employees may apply for textbook assistance through the VWCC Educational Foundation as it may be funded from time-to-time. Established guidelines determine eligibility of employees qualifying for assistance based on financial need.
- Programs are available to full-time employees to provide reimbursement of tuition and mandatory fee expenses, and seminars, for colleges other than VWCC.
- Programs are available to provide full-time employees a reduced work schedule while attending college.
- Scholarships are available to full-time employees through Chancellor’s Faculty Fellowships, Chancellor’s Faculty Professorships and Chancellor’s Fellowships for Classified Staff.
- Grants are available to full-time employees through Professional Grants and Mini Workshop Grants.
Either state or local funds may be allocated for tuition reimbursement pursuant to guidelines established by the state's Educational Assistance Policy and the Supplemental Educational Assistance and Continuous Learning Policy for Employees of Virginia Western Community College.
