How to Endow a Scholarship

The cost to attend Virginia Western, while significantly less than four-year colleges and universities, is a hardship for many students. The following outlines the expenses students are facing:

Cost of Tuition: $77.24 per credit hour for 06-07 academic year

Average Cost Per Year:

  Full-time tuition  $1,853.76
  Books and Supplies  $1,000.00
  TOTAL COST $2,853.76

You can make a significant difference in the lives of deserving students. Endowing a named scholarship will continue to help students in perpetuity and leave a lasting legacy for your family or organization.

  • A contribution of $15,000, which may be funded over a maximum of ten years, provides funds for books and other related expenses for qualifying VWCC students.
  • A $30,000 contribution, which also may be funded over a maximum of ten years, provides tuition expenses for qualifying VWCC students.

These funds are invested and conservatively earn an average of eight percent annually, which grows the fund and the scholarship award amounts over time. Each year you will receive an account statement that details the performance of your endowed fund.
