Your gift to the Annual Giving Campaign ensures Virginia Western Community College remains in the business of changing lives and helping students prepare for a successful future in our community! Annual Campaign gifts are designated for current use and used where the need is the greatest. By providing an annual gift to Virginia Western you support the following:

• Scholarships for financial need or academic excellence

• Innovative programming and creative teaching

• Updated equipment to support technology

• A solid financial foundation to plan for the future

Your gift to the Annual Fund helps Virginia Western meet the ongoing challenges of keeping college accessible to the greatest number of area residents while helping students learn. Shortfalls in state and federal funding continue as costs increase for equipment and programming maintenance. Our students will feel the pressure over the next 3 years as tuition is expected to rise 6.0% each year (18.0% total) to compensate!

By supporting the Annual Campaign, you make a huge impact on the success of our students and the future of our community!

Gifts to last year’s campaign provided over $56,000 in scholarship funds and over $9,000 in emergency student funds and book funds assisting hundreds of students in fulfilling their dream! Your support ensures higher education can be affordable for everyone.

By contributing to the 2007-2008 Annual Giving Campaign you impact the lives of ourstudents and in turn strengthen our region. Virginia Western graduates become successful and productive members of our local economy each year. The added skills of students who are educated at Virginia Western translate into higher earnings and a more robust western Virginia economy.

Can you make a gift in memory of someone or to honor a special individual?

Certainly!  We will be happy to discuss options with you.  An acknowledgement will also be sent to the honoree or appropriate family member, if you wish.

Is your gift tax-deductible?

Yes. All gifts to the Virginia Western Educational Foundation are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Does your or your spouse’s company match an employee’s charitable contribution?

Matching gifts are an easy way to increase your gift to the Foundation and can double, even triple the size and impact of your gift!
