Virginia Western supports many professional development opportunities for faculty and staff (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vz5WJEWbf5I&feature=youtu.be). Professional development activities include on-campus training, VCCS opportunities for conferences and grants (http://www.vccs.edu/careers/office-of-professional-development/), non-VCCS travel and training, and educational aid for courses offered both on campus and at other institutions.
The Professional Development Committee has worked hard to improve the professional development funding process for 2014-15. Changes to the process include simplification of the application, inclusion of an option for attending more costly national conferences, and an automated submission process. Professional development funding is available to all full-time faculty and staff through this application process.
The deadline for applications was Sunday, March 16, 2014.
The VWCC Knowledge Center (KC) was established to meet the educational, training, and learning needs of our employees and our community. The VWCC KC is a resource for training, learning, and career development for our college. It provides a clear path to learning and professional development through Online Learning, Managing Virginia Program (MVP), Performance Management and Professional Development.
As an employee of VWCC, you will find a wide variety of training and developmental opportunities designed to promote your professional and personal growth.

In this email, please include your full name, the division you will be teaching in or department you are working for, and your current email address. Once you have been registered in the VWCC KC, you will receive a confirmation email with your login and password. It is recommended you change your password the first time you login to the VWCC KC.
