Virginia Public Service Week Recognition Event – Wednesday, April 9th!

Every May, state agencies across Virginia will celebrate the hard work and dedication that state employees provide to the Commonwealth of Virginia through recognition events in honor of Virginia Employee Public Service Week.

Due to the operational challenges that Virginia Western faces during the traditional recognition period, we will be celebrating Virginia Employee Public Service Week on Wednesday, April 9, 2014:

Virginia Public Service Week

Fralin Center, Multi-purpose Room

11:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Wednesday, April 9, 2014

Wildwood Smokehouse will cater this event providing you pulled chicken and pork, BBQ beans, potato salad, cole slaw and a dinner role.

For your additional pleasure, an assortment of challenges will be available:

  • Jelly Beans Guessing Game   Be the employee to guess the closest amount of jelly beans and win the jar of candy!
  • Name that Employee and Recognition Line-Up  Have fun while you eat by matching recognition statements made on You Make the Difference Cards to the recipient, and identifying pictures of co-workers.  The employee that matches the most correct responses will receive a prize!

You will also have the opportunity to recognize an accomplishment or a noteworthy action of a co-worker on a paper brick wall for the college’s Wall of Fame.  Three (3) employees will be awarded a recognition reward based on the recognition action (brick) completed by your peers.  The VWCC bricks will be proudly displayed on the college's Wall of Fame during the traditional Public Service Week, May 4 – 10th.

Thank you for making a difference!
