Please read the folllowing for details on a pretty interesting training opportunity being promoted to VCCS faculty and staff.
Workshop Purpose & Goals
This workshop is designed to help participants develop competencies that will enable them to plan systemically for the selection, use, and evaluation of technology tools and resources in their teaching. While many technology workshops tend to focus on simply learning the technology tools, the TEI workshop engages participants in inquiry-‐based learning in order to actively experience a range of technology tools and resources and connect these tools to research-‐based approaches to use in their teaching.
Participants who complete this workshop will obtain status as Microsoft Faculty Fellows and will receive a certificate from Microsoft and the Society of Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE).
In addition, they will receive a digital badge for their email signature line.
This workshop is designed so that participants will leave with:
A broader awareness and understanding of the technologies and digital resources that can be used to positively impact teaching and learning
Familiarity and experience with TPACK and 21st Century Learning Design
Practice with tools to integrate appropriate pedagogy and technology in their instruction
Insights on how their course activities and assignments might change based on what they have learned in the workshop
Participants who complete the workshop will earn Microsoft Faculty Fellow status and will receive a certificate from Microsoft and the Society of Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE).
