Relocation of the Mailroom and Print Services will begin today and be complete Friday afternoon. Each department will need to see Amy Maiolo on Monday in Anderson Hall Room A156 to obtain the key to their mailbox for incoming mail and drop-off out-going mail.

Brown Library is S – T – R – E – T – C – H – I – N – G Saturday hours in April and closing at 4:00 instead of 1:00. The Link Learning Commons (main floor) and Library Services (top floor) will be open as follows:
- Monday through Thursday, 8am to 8pm
- Friday, 8am to 5pm
- Saturdays in April, 9am to 4pm
The Learning Technology Center (ground floor) will have regular hours which are posted here.

A new policy for Virginia Western Community College employees, “Travel and FLSA”, is available on VW Connect under Human Resources/Policies and Procedures.
This policy addresses employees who are non-exempt from the Fair Labor and Standards Act (FLSA) and participates in business-related travel.

Every May, state agencies across Virginia will celebrate the hard work and dedication that state employees provide to the Commonwealth of Virginia through recognition events in honor of Virginia Employee Public Service Week.
Due to the operational challenges that Virginia Western faces during the traditional recognition period, we will be celebrating Virginia Employee Public Service Week on Wednesday, April 9, 2014:

Wildwood Smokehouse will cater this event providing you pulled chicken and pork, BBQ beans, potato salad, cole slaw and a dinner role.
For your additional pleasure, an assortment of challenges will be available:
- Jelly Beans Guessing Game Be the employee to guess the closest amount of jelly beans and win the jar of candy!
- Name that Employee and Recognition Line-Up Have fun while you eat by matching recognition statements made on You Make the Difference Cards to the recipient, and identifying pictures of co-workers. The employee that matches the most correct responses will receive a prize!
You will also have the opportunity to recognize an accomplishment or a noteworthy action of a co-worker on a paper brick wall for the college’s Wall of Fame. Three (3) employees will be awarded a recognition reward based on the recognition action (brick) completed by your peers. The VWCC bricks will be proudly displayed on the college's Wall of Fame during the traditional Public Service Week, May 4 – 10th.

Now that the Navigate Advising Team is fully staffed, please remember that returning students who are continuing in their program of study will be referred to their faculty advisor if they need academic planning assistance. Returning students who are considering a program change will be referred to the Program Advisor responsible for their prospective major. New students and non-curricular students should be referred to the Advising Center to meet with a New Student Advisor.
Please refer students needing assistance searching for available class times, processing enrollment in courses, or printing an Advisement Report to the Registration Room in Duncan 212 (Monday-Thursday 8:00-5:30pm; Friday 8:00-5:00pm). The Registration Room will be available April 11th through May 16th and June 23rd through August 27th.

If you are using the Natural Science Center and it has already been set up for another event, please try not to move it. If you must move furniture, please reset it before you leave.
If you have events with food or if you eat lunch in the Natural Science Center please fully clean up the kitchen when finished. Dirty dishes are continually left in the sink, on the counter, or in the dishwasher. If you use it, clean it.
