The following offices are up for election this year at the VCCA Annual Conference to be held in Hot Springs, Virginia. If you are interested in serving in one of these offices, please complete the attached 2012 Candidate for Office Form and return to Chris Pauly (cpauly@tcc.edu) with a black-and-white photograph in .jpg format and a 200 word biographical sketch.
The Candidate for Office form should be e-mailed by July 20, 2012.
Eligibility for Office
Elected officers to the executive committee shall be full-time VCCS employees and members of the VCCA.
VCCA Offices and Duties (Check One)
____ President-Elect: Serves as chair of the conference committee and coordinates arrangements for the annual conference of the association; performs duties of the president during the president’s absence or disability; assumes presidency if the office should become vacant and serves remainder of the unexpired term; performs duties as assigned by the president, and automatically assumes president the following year unless barred by ineligibility as described in the Constitution. (This position is a three-year commitment—president-elect, president, past-president.)
____ Secretary: The Secretary shall record the meeting of the Assembly of Delegates and of the Executive Committee; distributes accurate copies of the record to appropriate individuals and groups in a timely manner; maintain Association records and archives; and perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President. No Secretary or Treasurer shall serve more than two consecutive terms in the same office.
Member-at-Large: Advises Executive Committee of matters of concern to constituency, maintains close communication with institution contacts, distributes association materials to contacts, serves as liaison to one of the commissions, and serves on the conference committee. (This position is a two-year commitment.)
