Get a Good Start!

Get a good start to the academic year by taking advantage of the free resources and services available for you on each floor of the Brown Library building:

BROWN LIBRARY, GROUND FLOOR (GF) = the Testing Center, the walk-in Writing Center, and the Link Lab in room B17. Go to the ground floor to take the Virginia Placement Test (VPT) for English & math, as well as make-up tests, and proctored exams for all asynchronous distance learning courses. The Writing Center provides assistance with papers for any class. The Link Lab-B17 computers are available for student use.

BROWN LIBRARY, MAIN FLOOR (1) = The Academic Link. This floor, known as the Link Learning Commons, is home to VWCC’s tutoring/academic success programs such as one-on-one and group tutoring programs and the walk-in Math Center. Computers and study rooms are available for collaborative active learning.

BROWN LIBRARY, TOP FLOOR (2) = Library Services, a “quiet floor” that is perfect for reading and quiet study. Five study rooms are available for currently-enrolled students to use. Traditional print resources (books, magazines, newspapers, and journals) are also available on this floor, along with access to library databases and other electronic resources and guides.

Remember: “Start strong, finish strong.” Come see us soon!
