Congratulations to Brian Hall and Matt Poor who advanced to the Round Three-Theater Finale for the 2009 Cisco Networking Academy NetRiders Skills Challenge, and we have learned that their team placed 18th among teams participating in the US-Canada Theater wide competition. This is quite an accomplishment!
The SAE Mini Baja Challenge is just one example of an international competition. Since 2006, where VWCC finished first among community colleges, we have had a competitive team in the Challenge. Countries involved in this year’s international event are Brazil, Puerto Rico, Canada, South Africa, Columbia, South Korea, France, Turkey, India, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, and the United States.
Congratulations to Sam Fochtman, a student in the A.A.S. degree Culinary Arts program, who won 1st Place in the Dessert category for a recipe he entered in a recipe contest sponsored by Dole! Click here for more details.

- Registration for the spring semester starts Monday, November 16, and there have been exciting changes to the Information Systems Technology program. It is critical that majors understand these changes. Please contact one of the four faculty advisors for more information before registering:

- ATTENTION ACCOUNTING AND MANAGEMENT MAJORS! The Accounting and Management degree program articulation agreements with Radford University will expire on June 30, 2009. Students in the Accounting or Management degree program must complete their degree and Radford University application process by July 1, 2009 in order to have automatic transfer access into the degree programs at Radford University. RU and VWCC are in discussion on a new partnership agreement that will offer students in these programs flexible transfer opportunities to RU. Information will be made available on the new partnership as soon as possible. Questions should be directed to the division office.
