Associate of Science

The AS in Science degree is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a baccalaureate degree in a science discipline or pre-professional program. Students may elect to specialize in Health Sciences, Integrated Environmental Studies and Mathematics.

What classes do I take for an AS?

Science: Computer Science - Associate of Science

This curriculum is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a non-Engineering based baccalaureate degree in computer science or information technology. Students desiring a four-year Engineering Computer Science degree should consider the program under the Engineering A.S.

What classes do I take for a Computer Science specializtion?

Science: Health Science - Associate of Science

This curriculum is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a baccalaureate degree in an allied health program such as nursing, health education or dietetics/nutrition.

What classes do I take for a Health Science specialization?

Science: Integrated Environmental Science - Associate of Science

This curriculum is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a baccalaureate degree in environmental science, environmental biology, natural resource management, forestry or wildlife science. Graduates who do not plan to transfer may pursue employment at the technical level as environmental science and protection technicians working with natural resources, agriculture, water resources, or waste water management.

This curriculum is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution and major in mathematics, mathematics education, or statistics. This program is suitable for students pursing baccalaureate degrees in physics, chemistry, engineering, or computer science.

Applied Interdisciplinary Science - Career Studies Certificate

This Career Studies Certificate is only available to students taking Dual Enrollment classes through the Virginia Western Regional Academy for Advanced Technology.

This curriculum will challenge the high achieving student with hands-on instruction in Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology and Environmental Science.  Students will gain research experience and benefit from the project based learning activities associated with this coursework. The program allows students to experience exciting opportunities in science and prepare themselves for an Associate's Degree, or transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a baccalaureate degree in Biological or Environmental Sciences.

What classes do I take for this CSC?
