Radiography

Associate of Applied Science Degree

This curriculum is designed to prepare selected students to qualify as contributing members of the health team who care for patients under the supervision of qualified physicians. Upon completion of the curriculum, which includes a one-semester internship, the student is eligible to apply to take the National Registry Examination leading to certification as a Registered Radiographer, RT-R. Successful completion of the program and certifying exam will qualify a graduate to gain employment as a radiographer.

Mission Statement

The Radiography Program strives to provide quality educational experiences that ensure students prepare academically, clinically and professionally to develop intelligent, flexible and mature responses to the changing nature of medical imaging.

Goals

• To provide selected students the opportunity to obtain knowledge that enables them to become contributing members of the allied health team as competent entry-level radiographers.
• To stimulate critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• To retain and prepare students academically to complete the program and successfully pass the National ARRT Registry Examination.
• To instill in our students a professional work ethic, a desire for life-long learning, and an appreciation for radiologic technology as a profession.
