Admission Requirements for Clinical

After a student has been admitted to the Nursing Program, the following must be completed, and submitted:

  1. A physical examination within the specified time period
  2. Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) two stage, or chest x-ray (CXR)
    1. It is your responsibility to keep your TST current throughout the program and to submit verification to the Nursing Program office.
    2. If your TST lapses at any point during the program you will not be allowed to attend clinical rotation.
  3. Rubella titer demonstrating immunity
  4. Chickenpox titer demonstrating immunity
  5. Tetanus immunization or verification of previous immunization within the past ten years
  6. Hepatitis B vaccination series
  7. Criminal background check and urine drug screen
  8. Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification
    1. It is your responsibility to keep your CPR current throughout the program and to submit verification to the Nursing Program office.
    2. If your CPR lapses at any point during the program you will not be allowed to attend clinical rotation.
  9. Current LPN license from the Commonwealth of Virginia, if applicable

*Please note that an Influenza (Flu) vaccination is required each fall as mandated by clinical facilities.

The student will not be allowed to attend class or clinical agency without submitting the above documentation by the stipulated due date.
