School of Health Professions

Virginia Western offers a variety of restricted admissions programs leading to licensure or certification in Nursing, Practical Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Medical Laboratory Technology, Radiography, and Radiation Oncology.  These programs prepare graduates to provide high quality patient care and graduates enjoy high earning potential, job mobility, and flexible employment hours.  Additionally, the college offers a distance learning program in Veterinary Technology in collaboration with Blue Ridge Community College.

The School of Health Professions features outstanding programs, experienced and supportive faculty, well-equipped laboratories, and hands-on learning.  Our programs are designed to prepare you for the career or profession of your choice.

Advising/Information Office

The Health Professions Advising/Information Office is located on campus on the 3rd floor of the Fralin Center for Science & Health Professions Room HP339, to assist those who have expressed an interest in our programs. We are here to provide information on application requirements and guidance to prepare students for these programs of study. Restricted admissions programs in Health Professions require that students apply to both the college and to the individual program for admission. Applicants should follow the application process outlined on the program of study webpages and provide all necessary material by the following deadlines:
